Dealing With Depression and Change

Kingsley Hall

Hi, my name is Kings. I moved into a flat about 2 years ago. I live alone and it was a massive change for me as I had been living with parents for too long and I was used to living in their setting. I really struggled for the first year. I struggled with different surrounding noises, the permanent independence and and knowing that everything was my problem to deal with.

I had new neighbours, who occasionally disturbed me and I found it really overwhelming. I often considered selling up but I really didn’t want to go back to my parents’ home again; it’s one thing to go back for respite, but I did not want to return forever, so I sought a hypnotherapist. I wanted someone who could help look at things in a different way – someone who could change my perspective, give me something else to think about – maybe even help me with a ‘safe-place’ to mentally escape to. This led me to Calmer Minds.

Ricky is easy to talk to. He’s compassionate and empathetic and doesn’t do the hard sell. He tells you how he works and is patient with your answers. He is aware how stressful is it to require his services and he takes that into consideration. He shows an interest and will contact you after his sessions have finished to check on your welfare. He’s not just in it for the money – he absolutely cares.

Now I have a calmer mind. I find it easier to deal with stress. Don’t get me wrong, I still have my bad days when I struggle, but listening to his MP3 track brings me down and chills me out immediately. I have learned to accept that you can’t change everything and you DO get used to certain things that used to bother me intensely. I know he is only a phone call away if I need him.
